electronic shifting problems

I have a 1992 Ford E250 3/4 ton van with a 4.9 liter straight 6 and electronci over drive. It has approximately 255,000 miles on it.

I had blown 2 fuses the other day that run the speedometer, cab light, radio, and electronic shifting. I changed the fuses and everything worked fine for two days, then they blew again. Now when I try and replace the fuses they spark and blow before I even get them all the way in, even with the ignition off.

It is shifting very hard, no speedometer, mileage guage, radio, or cab light.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you look for some bad wiring. It sounds like it could be anywhere if one fuse controls all that. I bet you have some melted wires going to ground somewhere on the chasis. It is actually two seperate fuses. I figure it is some bad wires touching, but not sure how to narrow it down, have been all over the thing.Car Repair Talk's forum.
