2000 Accord with Electrical Problem

My 2000 Accord is acting funny. The check engine light has been on for a week. This morning when I started the car all the indicator lights were on even the ones that tell you the parking brake is on and the doors are open. Well they turned off half way to my destination, then on the way home the headlights started dimming, the ABS light turned on, the radio shut off and my speedometer stopped working. I then turned off the head lights and the other electrical items started working again. I noticed the car was loosing more and more power and the car started having problems accelerating afterstopping at stop lights. I was beginning to wonder if I would make it home. What could be the problem? sounds like a burnt up alternator. get it to autozone and have them test the system. they will do it for free....while you are there, have them check the trouble codes for the SES light.
