Hot wire a 300 SD Mercedes or any car made during the 70's?

My car is a piece of crap, but its the only one i have for now. yesterday the ignition was permanently stuck on lock-down mode. i couldnt move it to the start postition. I borrowed some tools from my local gym and bashed out the ignition switch, or what i just learned is called the tumbler. i got it started by rotating its inner workings, but the car sounded kind of funny, but i was able to drive it back home. i dont want to get a new tumbler, i just want to be able to start the car. is there a way to hot wire it, so that all i have to do is press a button? can you recommend any car forums i can go to to ask this question? It isn't in our best interest to give you information on how to hot wire vehicles or bypass security items in this forum. I am sure amateur car thieves would like to see information like that. It would defeat the purpose of those items if that information was made public.Car Repair Talk's forum.
