my olds have an electronically controlled air suspension this includes a compressor, two height sensors and two air springs supporting the rear axle. since monday night the back of my car where this suspension system is located, is down, i mean it seems that the air springs are not working, the compressor seems that is working but i do not know what is happening, few days ago i noticed a change on the noise of the compressor, it was terrible, too much noise, i thought that was normal, but i said on monday the back of my car went down, yesterday night i supplied some air to the compressor for the outlet that is located rear of passenger seats, and the air spring were lifted up, today morning same condition as monday night, i checked under my car and it seems that no hoses unpluged, the height sensors are there, the air springs have some air (not the enough to lift the car), can anyone help me please?
If you have some people sit on the rear bumper, does the pump motor kick on and raise the rear?
likely an air leak, get the compressor pumping and use a soap and water mix.spray it on fittings.hoses and shocks.if the rubber boots are worn spray on the boot and look for bubbles.
Usually if you have a leak in the system the compressor will keep running. Eventually it will burn up, that might be why the pump sounded bad. Thats unless GM got smart and included a maximum compressor time limit logic function to keep the compressor from overheating.
no, it doesn't raise the rear of my car, the compressor sounds like is working but doesn't raise the rearCar Repair Talk's forum.
