Installing rebuilt alternator in 1983 Nissan Maxima, but forget correct mounting of radio suppression condenser. Need confirmation fast, please, if anyone can help. Thanks.
Seeking information as to correct terminals to use for condenser, which has a barrel-shaped capacitor (condenser) with a wire attached, ~2" long. I am guessing that the condenser end might go to the battery terminal on the back of the alternator, and the attached wire end might go to a terminal screw labeled 'E'. There are two such E screw holes. There is the terminal labeled 'Bat+'. There is a connector having two wires with 2 female flat connectors in a 'T' formation. And there is another connection slot labeled 'P' which has a single flat male connector and which doesn't seem to have a wire associated with it. Anyone know what the E and the P represent?
Is there any preferred orientation of the condenser, i.e., can it be reversed without problem --- the wire end on the 'Bat+' terminal and the condenser end to one of the 'E' terminals?
