Just bought a 2000 Ford Taurus SEL for my son. The previous owner has an elaborate setup for a hands-free telephone system that included much under dash wiring, brackets, speakers, mikes and antennas. When I disconnected and removed this stuff, the 12 volt utility socket and cigarette lighter stopped working. I replaced the under dash fuse but it still does not work. The battery is only a few months old. How can I rewire this without having to go into a large cluster of wires? I'd feel at ease if my son could charge his cell phone if he needed to do it. Thanks!
They are both powered by a 20 amp fuse labeled F213 in the under dash fuse box.
If that fuse is getting power at both sides, then he may have disconnected the power from the socket to use it elsewhere.
