94 GMC TRUCK Fuel Pump Problem

I have a 94 GMC TRUCK C1500 2WD 350 K 5.7L TBI. The truck will not start, I think it is the fuel pump but wanted to be sure it isn't something simple before I drop the tank and change the pump. I dumped some gas down the throttle body and got is started for a couple of seconds. I took the fuel filter off and tried to start the truck to see if gas would flow. No gas, is there anything that could cause the pump not to pump i.e. blown fuse, bad relay, or sensor? You called it yourself. Blown fuse or bad relay are possible. Some vehicles (dunno about your GMC) use a shutdown relay affected by various sensors. Try separating the electrical connctor and applying 12v directly to the pump; see if the pump operates. check the fuse and relay, located at the passenger side fire wall under the cover for the junctions block. also check grounds on the wiring harness. BTW it's easier to remove the bed, 8 bolts and a wiring harness, 3 self tapping screw on the gas filler neck. I checked the relay and found it to be good but didn't find a fuse. I checked to see if the wire harness that plugs into the relay had 12 volts when I turned over the motor, there was power. Unless there is something else to check, it looks like I have to remove the bed and change the pump.
