Ok 76 Ford F150 1/2 ton, 460. Truck died (or just quit running) couple days ago going down the hwy. Towed it in. The neg battery clamp was broken in half. (Had been replaced 6 months ago) Replace clamps(termials) Nothing. Charged battery, Replaced starter, SOLENOID SWITCH (one one wheel well) Starter and Solenoid have never been replace so they were due new ones. Nothing, Solenoid just goes clunk or noise close to that. Just once when key is turned. Wires look good not broken or burned (wires that connect to solenoid) I am lost. Did notice two wires that go to solenoid that have a inline fuse. Could that of blown? Now a kid at apts were I live has a Ford. Even though not the same as mine things are close to the same. He said his solenoid made same type of noise once, ask a mechanic who told him to change his VOLTAGE REGULATOR. He did and problem solved. Of course his regulator had bad wires running to it. Would this really have anything to do with it? Could use some help. Thank you all. [quote=
