Have to use starter fluid to start truck

If my 1977 Chevy 3/4 ton 454 pick up sits for more than a day or two, I need to spray starter fluid in the carb to start it. After that, it starts just fine without it until I park it again for a couple of days. It had been parked for a couple of years without use, but all I had to do was charge the battery, change the oil, spray starter fluid in the carb, and it fired right up. It runs great with no other problems. Any ideas? HI:

What kind of Carb do you have mounted on top of your 454? Hello.... if you change your fuel filter.... easy to do and will only cost a few dollars for the filter, 50 cents for gasket and spray some good carb cleaner in the carb while the truck is running you will most like correct the problem that you are having.... you might also want to add a bottle of fuel additive that cleans the fuel system and carb for the next 2 fill ups...

over all its a cheap repair and should get you back to starting the truck with out starting fluid again.....

try this and let us know.
