Chevy truck hard starting

I have a 2001 Chevy Silvrado 1500 2WD that is hard to start.I can try to start it and it will turn over fast but will not start.I can then release the ignition key and try again and it will start.Could this be a problem with the ignition switch? Thanks for your help,Glenn You could check for power at the ignition coils and fuel pump relay when you go to start the engine and it doesn't start.

You could also have a fuel pressure drain back problem if the truck sits overnight and the fuel drains back into the tank through the fuel pump check valve. You can check for drain back by connecting a fuel pressure gauge to the rail and pressurizing the system by turning the ignition on and then off. Then watch the gauge to see if you loss pressure quickly.
