I want to know if you can turn the key and get the engine light blinks on a 1998 Saturn? I already have a reader and its fun to do it the other way.
I can turn the key on my sentra 06 and plymouth 88 ....but the saturn is mean!
TMK No.....
You need a scan tool to read Saturn OBD2 codes!

Djera; Just about any 'code reader' will pull trouble codes. Once you get a code, all that does is tell you what system is 'seeing' a problem. It doesn't tell what WHAT the problem is. For example, you get a P0301. Great. You got a P0301.
What does that tell you? (this is a test, by the way). Or, a P0420? Some scanners will tell you that P0301 is cylinder one misfire. Okay. What is causing that cylinder to misfire? Plug, wire, injector, vacuum leak, valve? Many people will come up with an EGR code, for instance. There are a multitude of reasons that will set that code. EVAP codes are another one. Small leak, gross leak, ect. My point is, why spend the money on a POS that isn't going to tell you what you are really wanting? No such thing as a 'crystal ball'. Just My Opinon.
