93 Lincoln Town ECM C0 Readout

Greetings and Salutations Noble Lords and Fine Ladies,

While I was driving yesterday, my electronic gas guage started acting funny. It was alternating between full and then blank with two lines at the top and two lines at the bottom. When this weird fuel display happens the ECM states C0. I've looked around on the www but must be a computer dummy because I can't find any info on this prob. Using common sense... I would think this to be a C02 leak (perhaps in the muffler) causing a pressure leak thereby tripping a sensor.

Does this sound about right guys? Or is this perhaps the beginning of a more sinister problem?

I have a 93 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series V8 4.0L 128k miles. I suppose that C0 could also stand for COmputer. Perhaps the computer chip is faulty...
