2006 toyota corrolla how to reset the check eng light

can anyone tell me how to reset the check engine light on a 2006 Toyota Corrolla . Someone left the gas cap off while the engine was running and the light on the dash came on and won't go out . Its been like that for about 3 weeks. Thank you
Run by your local major parts house and have them read the code and then ask them to erase it for you. This way it will make sure there is not another problem.
