2004 chevy trailblzr-throttle position sensor replace

2004 chevy trailblazer-4.2liter-78k miles
Wifes truck--She called and said the truck was all of a sudden running real sluggish.....max speed 5-10mph-Has had "check engine"lite on for about 3-4 weeks---Just now when the sluggishness started .....this message was replaced with something like" low engine power" or "reduced engine power"-diagnostics check by uncertified personnel revealed engine codes relating to the throttle position sensor......it appears that there is one located on the throttle body and possibly one @ the pedal????? If so..........how do i determine which sensor.......and how hard is it for the average unmechanic guy to change out the sensor on the throttle body? I don't even know where the throttle body is so you get an idea of how much of a mechanic i am..........and is it possible for it to be a fuel filter problem? Thanks beforehand for any help on this matter.

You have a "Drive by wire" throttle system. It uses 2 TPSs, one ranging up and one ranging down. If one goes bad, the computer defaults to only partial throttle. You will have to replace the pedal position sensor to resolve the problem.

Thanks again for the quick response. One more question.....so i have some sense of how this works.............how would i know if i had to replace the "other" sensor? Once again.....thanks beforehand.............

They are both together in one part so you don't have a choice.
