I have a 2001 mercury sable with a 3.0 24 valve engine with 110000 miles on it. I keep getting the code p0301 which is a miss fire on cylinder #1. I have had a compression test ran on cylinder #1 and its reading in the 120s, I had the coil pack check and its firing on all 6, and I had spark plugs and spark plug wires changed on it. Can you please tell me if there is any other easy repair that it could possibly be? I have heard that it could be with the air flow through the air filter. Does this seem plausable?
Exactly how did you have the coil pack checked?
woodbrew; You can have it tested with an exhaust analyzer to see if that cylinder is getting fuel. You can also ohm check the injector, listen with a stethescope to hear if it is clicking with the engine running. (if it is clicking, that doesn't mean it's not plugged). (If it isn't clicking, check the circuit with a noid light to be sure you are getting voltage and ground).

SW Washington the nmechanic did this thing with it to make sure all ports were sparking through and they were
That type of test really does not clear the coil. Your miss is likely very intermittent and only occurring under load so that test won't show anything. I would compare the color of the spark plug in that cylinder to the other cylinders and see if it is any darker or lighter. Darker would mean ignition miss, lighter would indicate lack of fuel. I'm not saying it's the coil but you haven't ruled it out yet.
