2001 Cavalier Check Engine light

2001 2.2L Cavalier. How far do I have to drive for the Check Engine Light to go out if what caused it has been repaired?
What was the code that caused the light to come on? Are you sure you repaired the root cause of the problem?


Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds W20 is right...sometimes the light has to be cleared with a diagnostic tool unless the problem was in the emission system which will require a drive/trip cycle to be performed in some cases....but still need to know what was repaired and the codes you went by.
