The two digit Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) codes are a bit too generic; have the codes read using an OBD II code reader or scan tool and get the P0XX number.
According to my repair manual MIL code 43 deals with engine misfire(s) it doesn’t tell us which cylinder or cylinders. An OBD II code may narrow down which direction to head in; maybe not but they are more specific.
A misfire could be caused by an ignition related issue like the ignition coil, ignition wires, cap, rotor and or spark plug(s) but may not be the root problem.
An overly rich or lean fuel mixture or engine mechanical issues can cause a misfire or be the reason the ignition has failed.
Incorrect fuel mixture or mechanical concerns can foul or burn out a spark plug, changing the amount of voltage required to jump the air gap. This change in voltage could trigger a code dealing with an ignition problem, when the root problem is fuel delivery or engine mechanical.
Make sure all basics are checked; engine compression, vacuum leaks, fuel pressure & volume, injectors tested electrically and for flow.
Pull and read the spark plugs; do they all look like they’re running "normal" or are there one, two or all fouled or burning hot.
Keep it fun.
