1995 jeep wranger location for obd1 connector

I purchased a code reader that is supposed to be compatible with my 1995 jeep wranger (yj7). When i look under the hood i see a connector on the fire wall near the passenger side, but it is not compatible with the 3 prong connector cable taht came with the code reader (auto xray something or other 2500). is ther a location for a different connector that will fit? did i get the wrong type?
