Dark liquid dripping from my car

I drive a '94 Ford Explorer that is basically in good health, even though it has 230,000 miles on it.

Today I noticed that there is a dark fluid dripping from the center of the engine area. (I noticed it in my garage.)

Should I be worried? Is there something that ought to be checked?

No other symptoms at this time, the car is running fine.

Thanks in advance for any help! Can you tell if its oil, proberly is.Check the oil level.
I would say it looks like oil, yes. I had the oil changed about 3 weeks ago, but it's been driven hard since then on a long trip.

Do you think I need to have a mechanic look at it?

Thanks!! First, crawl up under it and see if you can pinpoint where it is coming from. It may just be a loose drain plug. It may be easier to jack it up and safely support it while you are under it looking for the leak.
