hello,
i'm looking for brake help on my 93 honda accord.i was going to replace or machine the rotors on the front, and after removing the caliper and hanger.i removed the axle nut,the rotor wouldn't come loose.i was told it is a trapped rotor, and it has to be removed from the back and the bearing pressed out onorder to change the rotor, then pressed back in.can anyone shed some light on this for me?i'll try it myself if i think i can do it.
phil Rotors should not require taking off by the hub and bearing. Look for Phillips head bolt(s) or threaded hole (8mm) which you just start a bolt into usually two of that type to release rotor from hub. Rotors are thin when new so I suggest new as machining them just makes them thinner and they may get out of spec too fast and warp. If you don't see what I'm talking about for a release post back and I'll try to find out how that rotor is on there exactly which I would know if I was looking at it,
