I bought a 1991 Ford Taurus GL for my daughter. The Key-in-ignition warning will sound when the driver door is opened even without keys in the ignition. Every time the driver door is opened the warning sounds. When the door is shut the warning goes off. Any suggestions?
I've dealt with several Fords with attitude about the lock cylinder. Jockey the key around a little, make sure you are indexed to exactly the off position, remove key and see it that makes a change. Also just jockey the ignition without the key in it and see if that works. May need a new lock to stop that. Hard to say,
T
