I have a 1972 Cutlass Type S with a 350ci Chevy motor in it...I haven't started it in about 6months...The last time I started it it started right up very easily and ran good...the motor and trans is recently new with less than 5000miles on it...when I tried to start it up after six months I first drained the old fuel. Then I added some fuel stabil to the new fuel...then I charged the battery and turned the key...I heard a rough starting sound from the engine and backed off...What precautions do I need to take before trying to start the car again? I was thinking about just letting her turn over until she gets old circulating? what do you think I should do???!!!! Just need to get the thing started so I can drive it again. Paul
Six months isn't that long. What noise are you hearing that scares you? It really should just start as soon as fuel makes it to the carb where it probably evaporated,
