2001 ranger airbag warning light blinks-stays on

the airbag light blinks, stops, blinks more, ending up staying on.

i see on other forums it could be forward sensor. But how to locate it? how to test the sensor? Count the flashes. Include the long flash too. Or take it to a shop or someone that has a scan tool capable of reading the air bag codes. If you can get us the number of times the light blinks, we can let you know what the problem is. The long flash is the last in the series and the next series starts over.
