1988 MAZDA 626 NON TURBO ran out of gas, does not start

Teenager was driving ran out of gas and we had to have it towed. Starter was checked and bypassed, Replaced fuel filter, the battery is good, fuel filter, tested all fuses, opened up the steering column checked out, connections,

There is no sound from the starter it is as if there is no current to starter or fuel pump.. nothing.

is there a reset button for the fuel pump in a 1988 mazda 626? Or are there any ideas??
The starter should still crank even if the fuel pump didn't work?? You need to find why the starter doesn't crank first.

Don't overdo it with starter -- they can be destroyed by trying too hard which may have already happened, T

Well we took out the rebuilt one we had in it, it was still working on its own, and replaced it with another one, tested working, lifetime warranty..but nothing Seems like there is a damaged wire or connection, my friend bypassed the starter wire connection and with a starter wire got the car to fire up and I moved it. Only thing I can think of doing is a starter button working with the ignitions switch, Last time I had ford look for a problem in my dad's car I let with $435.00 less in my pocket and a brand new shiny hot battery cable... thank you
