The Haynes manual says to rotate the support bracket counter clockwise once you have removed the nuts and bolts securing it to the transaxle. The problem is that there are two bolts still protruding through the support bracket. I removed the nuts on these bolts, what I need to know is if they must come out too. They have a hex end, but would they be reverse threaded? Thanks. I can not speak from experience, but generally the threads are not reversed for the stud. So you should turn the hex head in the same direction you turned the nut to get it off. They do need to come out unless you have an engine hoist which you can lift the engine just enough to pull the bracket out. It can be done, if you have the right tools. If not, take the 2 bolts out. They are kinda in a tight spot and they are not reverse threaded.
Be very carful, if you strip them, your in trouble.
I recomend getting some penetrating fluid and soak the bolts for about 30 mins. soak them every 5 mins, for 30 mins.
5,10,15,20,25,30 then try. If they are still hard to turn give the fluid some more time to work.
Work smarter, not harder.
