81 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am - Need Turbo Unit Options

Hey all,

My 81' Bird REALLY crapped out last month. Engine was shot, turbo died out, and my tranny needed work.

The engine (301) and tranny are rebuilt but my mechanic said he can't seem to find a turbo anywhere. I am sure I can get one online but can anyone help direct me as to where?

Also, I understand stock turbos are VERY pricy, are there alternatives? My mechanic said that a turbo MUST be put on because of the setup with intake/exhaust and all. But can I get a more modern turbo that mounts in cheaply?

Thanks

I would not put a turbo on that was not an HKS turbo.

You can go back to non-asperaited, but it will cost you what a turbo will cost you.

Might as well stay with the turbo if you ask me. all you need to do is call david ts up in edmonton canada at 1-780-454-0999 he is the worlds largest distributor of new and used camaro and firebird parts
