Leaking transmission oil...even after repair

I have a hyundai sonata (~1995 model) that requires regular refilling of transmission fluid coz there is a leak somewhere. My problem is that I've been to 1/2 dozen mechanics in my area (who have all said once theyve finished that everything is permanently fixed) to try and detect the leak and repair it...but with little success.
Could it be that the mechanics are trying to fool me or is it that they dont know their job, or that its been fixed but the leak appears elsewhere as soon as i drive out the mechanics garage??
Would be grateful for any suggestions on how to go about plugging this leak for good...(i'm no automobile guru...but thought i'll try this forum for answers anyway)

many thanx
Feeb There are actually quite a few places that the transmission could leak fluid. Seals, gaskets, orings and rubber hoses could all be the culprit. I can't imagine why a half dozen mechanics can not properly diagnose the problem for you though.

They do make a flouresent dye that you add to the transmission fluid and then use a black light to find the leak source. I have used this many times in my shop and it really can help pinpoint a hard to locate leak. You might want to ask the shop you are visiting if they have access to one of these balck light leak finder lights.Car Repair Talk's forum.
