96 Camry Transmission ID

How can I tell whether a transmission will fit my 96 Camry (automatic with a 4 cylinder). I've looked at some that look right but I want to be sure. I noticed a tag on all of them that has what looks like either a serial or id number. Can I use this number to ID it properly? You might have to call dealer parts and give them the number on that tag. They maybe be able to decode it. The transaxle your looking for is a A140e of that year. I don't know if they changed slightly throughout the years, so you might want to get the same year.
