I have a 2004 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 with only 60k. Until yesterday it worked great. I came off a highway came to a stop sign and then it wouldnt move in any gear. I immediately checked the fluid aand it was full and clean, no burnt smell. I started it and it went into gear nicely and drove away. After a few hundred feet it did it again. Every time i shut it off and restart it does the same thing. It goes into all gears with no slippage at all for a few hundred feet. Any ideas other than a rebuild? Help..............................

Any ideas other than a rebuild? lol, thanks for the reply, however i would have to trade it in to myself. I was just thinking it could be the pump. I find it strange that by shutting it off and restarting the tranny works fine for a few minutes.
Sure, it could be the pump but how is that just a minor problem and why would the pump be the only thing damaged? Your getting severe blowby and slippage in there and that is never a minor problem.

I would expect you would get a more accurate diagnosis and examination before concluding anything. There's always the possibility that the problem is electronic although you never mentioned any warning lights.

Thats why i was hoping it may be electronic, ive never seen one act like this one. I have a gm mechanic friend who is going to scan it and check it out for me. I will let you know how i make out. Thanks.
