how to change stereos 95 pontiac sunfire

hey all. I have a 95 pontiac sunfire 2.2.
It has a factory radio/tape player in it, and a freind of mine gave me a cd player.
Im wondering how to remove the exsisting radio in it now, so i can install the cd player i have
step by step method i could follow would be great!!

You'll need to buy a stereo adapter plate at AutoZone or Advance. I think Walmart even carries them by the car stereo's. It's just plastic trim that fills in the hole.
You also need some insulated crimps or male/female connectors.

Be careful tapping into the existing wires. You'll need a light tester or multimeter. I like running my HOTS to the fuse panel. There are extra pluggins there. Ground, just find a good screw or bolt near by that penetrates the chassis metal. Your new stereo should have a wiring diagram on it or the wires labeled. You can take one speaker output once the radio is going and figure out which speaker is which on the car. Green and Grey pair normally for front speakers and Blue and White for the rear, each sharing a black ground. Your might be different. That's just to give you an idea. Red is normally battery hot and yellow or orange for your Accessory Hot (switched by key).
