Mechanic slid radio Dead Pickup Stereo

Mechanic slid radio out of 2000 B4000 Mazda pickup but left in rack. Did not unhook wires. Radio is now dead. Checked fuses and there is power to back of radio. Mechanic is baffled. Help will be appreciated. With it loose you probably lost all grounding. Just add a jumper wire ground of unit to ground where it mounted if testing things out,

I second that. Sounds like a earthing issue.
