This tool is designed for cutting thin sheet metal. Unlike snips,it has a flat face with one central serrated blade which in use cuts a slot equal in width to the thickness of the blade, about 1/8 in (3.1mm). As the material is cut,it coils up in front of the cutters. The advantage of this tool is that itcan cut sheet metal internally, and work along either a straight or curved line by drilling a small access hole in the metal to allow the blade to penetrate through the metal to commence cutting. Allowance must be made for the wastage of 1/8in (3.1mm) strip when cutting to a final size.
