Hey its me (again...) and I've run into a snag with my 1994 Ford Taurus 3.8 ltr Gl
I was checking all the fluids on my car and noticed that my oil was a little low (the oil level was just below the minimum recomended oil level) so I added a little (maybe a 1\4 quart I have no idea what that is in SI but its not much) then I turned on my engine and ran it for a second checked the oil level and its still low but within the recomended area. My problem is that now there is a bubbles in the oil on the dipstick... The oil level still reads low and I'm on flat ground but now theres bubbles??? I heard that oil bubbles (and eventually engine ravaging oil froth) were the result of to much oil in an engine (and subsequently the churning of the oil from the crankshaft) What should I do? I'm reluctant to lift the car and drain 1/4 quart of oil but I'd rather not destroy my Taurus through inaction...so I ask your advice...
Ps. Why does the title of my car title say 1994 but my engine says 10/93?
PPs. Thanks for your help I wouldn't worry about it, you did not overfill it and even if you had you have to overfill it quite a bit for it to be a problem.
If your not losing antifreeze and your oil does not look like a milkshake and smell like antifreeze then just drive the car. october of 93 would be considered 94 hI;
I would just like to add to the already good posts about your 3.8L Ford motor. These engines are nitorious for blown head gaskets
