1988 ford thunderbird won't fire!!!

I have a 1988 ford t-bird lx 5.0 that was surging on the way home. After I returned home and shut it off and try to start it now, it will not fire at all. I am wondering if it is the fuel pump or just where to start. Maybe it is in the distributor somewhere. You need to start by checking for spark and fuel pressure.
A spark tester can be had for a few bucks at any parts store and a fuel pressure gauge can be bought or borrowed at the same time.
If you have spark and fuel pressure you will need to check for injector pulse with a noid light. Parts stores sell and lend these also.
Once you’ve checked for spark, fuel pressure and injector pulse and have found out what is missing you can start to determine the cause of your problem.

Let us know what you find out and we’ll help as much as we can.Car Repair Talk's forum.
