2002 hyundai sonata wont let me put gas in it

this problem started the other day at the gas station. It lets me put in about 50 cents worth than the gas pump clicks off. What do i need to do? Please Help!
theres a vent hose that runs along the fuel filler tube. its job is to let air out of the tank as u fill it with gas. if this hose gets blocked, air cant get out and fuel backs up into the filler tube. this makes the nozzle think the tank is full, so it shuts off.

first, check the hose for kinks or collapsed places. if it looks ok, take it off, along with any valves and conectors its hooked to, and check for internal blockages. if theres little bits of charcoal or foam in the hose, most likely the charcoal canister is falling apart on the inside and needs to be replaced.

the hose can either be replaced or blown out with compressed air to clear it. What probably has happened is the charcoal canister foam has deteriorated inside and is allowing charcoal pellets into the OVR (on board vapor recovery system) and the canister close valve as Connie pretty much stated if you can't get gas in the tank at any pump.

Your probably going to have to replace the charcoal canister, canister close valve, and blow out the vent lines going to and from the filler neck.Car Repair Talk's forum.
