2000 Dodge Ram Check Engine light on

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 van with a 5.2 318 engine. It has 214000km on it and the check engine light came on and started to run rough. It was periodically dropping out of overdrive and into drive while driving on the highway. I haven't had it scanned yet but didn't know if someone would have an Idea about what is going with it.

Have the codes read and post back. Some auto parts stores, like Autozone, will scan them for free. Sounds to me like you have developed an engine miss that is causing your problems. This is just a guess from your description. Have the codes read and post back. Be waiting to hear from you.
