oil in a 3cylinder 1993 geo metro with 157000km

After driving this car it leaks a continual drip of oil under the engine after parking.If I run the motor at idle or higher in the driveway (after it has stopped dripping from previous trip)it will not drip.The air breather has some oil in it and the inside of the hood is oily.Ijust purchased this beauty and can`t drive it on the road as it is not yet licensed.I am trying to verify the condition before either scrapping or licensing it.These are probably standard symptoms of something so I hope somebody can figure them out.Thank you. There are too many possibilities for anyone to immediately say "this is it!" In fact you may have more than one problem. What I can recommend, for a start, is to replace the PCV. This is an inexpensive item and can be changed DIY. The PCV may be clogged. Then clean up all the mess under the hood and in the air cleaner. Run the engine and see if you can spot oil oozing out from somewhere.Car Repair Talk's forum.
