I have a 1998 Olds Silhouette (van). It has its original battery installed and is working great. I wonder if it's a good idea to replace it even though it is working fine or should I wait until it shows signs of decreasing power?

Well what you can do is take the battery to Auto Zone and test it! this test would be able to tell if your battery was going bad....Your car wouldnt have enough power to start. My opinion is Dont Fix it If its not Broken! If you start having a hard time starting your car, then I would go and replace the battery before it loses all power and then you cant get it started!!! TEST THE BATTERY @ AUTO ZONE FIRST, they will give a recommendation on what to do also!
