rear end gears, rear end gears, thanx steve

I'm not sure what gear ratio I have in my rearend......I've heard about counting the teeth? could you tell me how to discover what ratio I have.....oh by the way, it's a 64'chevy truck.thanx

Answer
steve sorry it took so long i got tied up out of town. the easiest way to check is to pull the cover or the carrier dependong on which yours has. count the teeth on the pinion and divide it in to the teeth on the ring. probably get some where around a 3.23 im assuming.
