kevlar brakes, consumer vehicles, driven vehicle

do you have any knowledge about 100% Kevlar brake systems, why are they not used in consumer vehicles?

Answer
kevlar brakes are used in racing because they will take a lot of abuse and heat with out failing. racing teams also change thier entire brakes every race so severe wear is not as much of an issue. on a daily driven vehicle they would probably destroy or severly warp your rotors because of the hardness. they would not perform as well either do to the fact you would not get them hot enough just crusing around. brakes need heat(friction) to work. they would also be extremely loud and dusty. you figure on a race car they're designed to last what a few hundred miles. where as your daily drive you should see thirty thousand. they are awesome brake pads on the track but not on the street.
