esscalade bcm, ourself, second opinion

i recently took my 1999 escalade into the shop to get it fixed due to the windows not going up or down and the radio turnign on and off... now the mechanic told us it was due to the bcm and it would cost us around 700 to get it fixed.. is there any other way we can fix this ourself... i hate bringing my autos to the shop since i know they do nothing but rip me off every chance they get.. please help me in anyway possible.

1999...does your car have Warranty still on it? The dealer would honor something like that...if not.. electric problems can be tricky..and expensive...
Try to take it somewhere for a second opinion..
If it is your bcm/pcm.. this is the computer of your car..and would run expensive anywhere you go but 700 sounds really high priced..but it is a Cadillac! Try taking it to the dealer see what they say they can do for you...might of had a recall on that part you never know?? Does your engine light come on??
