Replacing a Starter, 1996 grand caravan, grand caravan

Greetings,
I have a 1996 Grand Caravan SE V6 and need to know how easy replacing the starter is. I'm a total novice when it comes to auto repair, so I'm sure I'll have to buy the manual. Also, is the solenoid a separate piece or is it all as one with the starter? I can't seem to find this part anywhere, online that is. My van just clicks (single clicks, not multiple) when I try starting it. Someone suggested replacing the solenoid somewhere else in this forum, but I'm not having any luck with this. The battery is still fairly new, so I know it's not that. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Answer
I would first start with checking all of your connections for good, clean contacts. Second, is your battery charged? Whether or not your battery is new if your alternator went out it will be dead. Anymore your better off to replace the entire starter. If you've never done this before your always better off to buy the manual. Plus they are nice to have around.
