1994 Mustang, best bet, supply house

I need to replace the air bags in my Mustang and have been told by a few people I can only swap them with another 1994 set, is this true and why?

Laura first off why do you need to replace your airbags? Did they go off or did the light in the dash come on. I'm not positive if different years are interchangeable, but i wouldn't recommend going with a used one. Sometimes they're not real or they're rebuilt, either one would not be good. Your best bet would be to bite the bullet and go through the dealer or a reputable crash parts supply house( body shop supply). Sorry I couldn't be more help.
