i drive a 97 ford ranger 4.0L V6 auto i want to change my auto to standard. what other transmission from what models and years will be compatible? thanks
Answer
It'll have to be a transmission that was used with a 2.9 or a 4.0. You'll need a new flywheel, clutch, bell housing, master and slave cylinders. It would be much easier to sell the truck and buy one with a stick. There are lots of them out there, and stick-equipped trucks tend to sell for less than auto-equipped ones, so you might come out ahead.
