I have lend rover frilender p1471.when the mashine wind up on the panel swich on service enjine soon.  what it mean? i chainge the motor oil and motor filter .bat it still show me servis enjine soon what does it meen.

    I am going to assume that the "p1471" you mention is the code from the computer, probably read with a cheap hand-held scanner.  This means that there is some sort of problem with the evaporative emissions system.  This system is intended to remove the vapors that form in the fuel tank and burn them in the engine.  It is, on the Land Rover, a fairly complex system with a lot of parts that can fail.  It can also fail temporarily.  If you have the scanner available, I would use it to erase the code.  Then wait and see if the code reappears (the light will come back on).  If it reappears, I would take it to the Land Rover dealer or a Land Rover specialist.  They will have a better-quality scanner that will allow them to scan the ECM and the other devices attached to it in real time with the engine running.  I would prefer to use the dealer for this, because any parts that may be needed for this system are going to have to come from him.
