Gasket, fel pro gaskets, head gasket

Hi, I have a Vortec 4.3, that I'm rebuilding.
My question is: What do you consider the best Head Gasket to use?
And what size? Thickness ?

Thanks

Answer
Assuming that this is not a performance rebuild (drag racing or supercharged), I would use the recommended Fel-Pro blue no-retorque head gasket for that particular year and engine size.  I sold auto parts for thirty years and never found anyone who could supply the consistent quality and accuracy of Fel-Pro gaskets.  There are some exceptions in the racing business, but they don't translate to everyday use.  If you are using stock-type pistons there is no reason to worry about the thickness of the head gasket.
