I have a 1996 4wd vin w blazer that has a bad 4.3. It seems that
it is easier to find a newer motor to replace this one.
What are the issues in swapping a 99+ 4.3 into a 1996?
Some of the issues i have heard are EGR,knock sensor,flywheel,bell housing bolts,intake?

1996-2001 Blazers, Astros, and 4WD S10s all used the same version of this engine. Although there might be one or two less important parts that have to be from the 1996 model year, you can swap them from your existing engine. Shouldn't be a big deal.
