Hi!
My Nissan quest has the air bag light blinking forever and the horn doesn't work. The repairman says it is the clock spring. The question is, there are some parts from the Mercury Villager that fits the 1995 Nissan Quest and there are other parts that don't. Does a clock spring for a 1995 Mercury Villager fit a 1995 Nissan Quest? If it does, what are the part numbers for both: Nissan and Ford? Are there any other OEM or replacement part for it and what will be the part number?
Thanks!!
Answer
They may be the same, but there is no way to tell. You should never try to buy safety-related parts (air bags, seat belts, anti-lock parts) from someone other than the manufacturer. The consequences of an incorrect part being installed could be the difference between life and death. For something that old, though, it might not be a bad idea to buy a used air bag unit from the salvage yard (one that hasn't been fired, of course).
