i have an o5 chevy malibu classic and the cigarette lighter is not working were would the fuse box be located. I looked in the trunk and there was no fuse box there.
Answer
Did you look in the owner's manual? That should tell you where to look and which fuse to look at. The fuse box should either be under the dash next to the driver's left foot or inside the part of the dash that is exposed when you open the door. Some of the larger fuses that are less likely to blow are in a box under the hood, but the lighter is the most likely to blow so it should be inside the car. Before you replace the fuse get a flashlight and look in the cigarette lighter. Almost every time there is a problem with the lighter it is because of a coin or other metal object that got accidentally (or on purpose if you have young children) dropped into the receptacle. Get that out of there before the new fuse is installed or it will just blow again. If it's clear and you plug something in and it blows again, the plug on that device could be shorted out. You can buy a replacement plug at any auto parts store for less than $5.
