flasher in 2005, turn signal flasher, flasher relay

i am trying to find the flasher in my 2005 cavalier everyone keep saying up the steering but i cant find it
could someone please help me thanks

Answer
Hi,
There are two possible locations for your turn-signal flasher relay which is what I believe you are asking about.
First location for that vehicle is in the relay panel. There will be a fuse-panel-like set-up under the dash to the left of the steering column. There may be fuses in it too, pay no attention to them. You are looking for a small square box plugged into this relay panel. There will probably be many of them there and your owners manual will be able to help you to further locate the correct relay.
the second location, and exponentially harder to access is in the top of the steering column attached to the column switch. This is the most likely place this relay will be for your application as I think only the convertible models had it in the relay center. Possible access points would be the steering column collar. Remove the lower portion of the collar first and then remove the top piece. After removing the top piece you should be able to at least see the relay. It'll probably be dead center of the two column switch arms and it may be necessary to remove the steering wheel to access it but I would really doubt that you'll need to go that far. The relay should easilly be removed from its socket by gently prying it out.
Thanks for the question, I hope this helps. Ask a follow-up if you need more info.
